Wiacom is a vendor-agnostic WiFi identity and guest engagement platform. It runs as a software layer on top of existing WiFi infrastructure from any vendor — Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Ruckus, UniFi, MikroTik, and others — without requiring hardware changes.

Does Wiacom replace our existing WiFi hardware?

No. Wiacom integrates with your existing access points and controllers via API or RADIUS configuration. It adds a software layer for guest registration, identity, analytics, and compliance on top of infrastructure you already own.

Is Wiacom GDPR compliant?

Yes. Wiacom captures guest data with explicit consent, supports GDPR and UK GDPR data subject rights self-service via a dedicated User Portal, and meets Article 32 requirements for unique user identification. All data is owned by your organisation, not by Wiacom.

Does Wiacom work with hotel PMS systems?

Wiacom integrates natively with Oracle OPERA Cloud (OHIP) to authorise hotel guests by reservation, including pre-arrival WiFi enrollment and in-house access. Mews and Cloudbeds and other 100 integrations are available.

What is the difference between Wiacom's captive portal and a standard shared WiFi password?

Wiacom's WiFi Pass feature provisions a unique personal passphrase (iPSK) for each registered guest, rather than sharing a single password across all users. This meets PCI DSS v4.0 per-device credential requirements and eliminates the security risk of a single shared key.

Data collection is done for the following purposes: to inform customers about their www.wiacom.ai account situation, for marketing and advertising purposes, market research, statistics, consumer behavior stats, sales verification and tracking.

Security and abuse prevention

Wiacom uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect its websites, applications and Wi-Fi onboarding services against automated access, spam, fraud and abuse.

For this purpose, reCAPTCHA may process technical and interaction data, including IP address, browser and device information, and information relating to user interactions with the service.

The processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of Wiacom and/or the applicable service provider in maintaining the security and integrity of the service, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Google processes reCAPTCHA Customer Data on behalf of Wiacom in accordance with the applicable Google Cloud Terms and Cloud Data Processing Addendum.

This matches Google’s current position: since April 2, 2026, the reCAPTCHA customer is controller and Google acts as processor for reCAPTCHA Customer Data.
